Software Team Leader

Beacon Power designs and builds sustainable energy storage systems that can deliver "megawatts for minutes" to provide power grid frequency regulation, as well as support other applications. We've recently moved into a new headquarters facility and are expanding our workforce. We have an immediate opening for a Software Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Review/establish overall software requirements all Beacon applications (individual flywheels, multiple flywheels, 1 MW control system, 20+ MW control system)
• Prepare software specifications for implementation by software engineers
• Supervise software engineers
• Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to assure software requirements are consistent with the electrical and mechanical systems
• Prepare block diagrams and schematics
• Establish software test plans
• Establish and maintain configuration control of software
• Set up software design reviews
• Establish test requirements and simulators prior to installation

Minimum Requirements:

• BSEE or BSCE (MSEE preferred) with 10+ years experience
• 10+ years experience in system software design and implementation
• Experience in controls and motor drives
• Experience with microcontroller programs using C/C++ language
